This standard applies to any individual who installs piping or components of medical gas systems, including braziers and welders. Medical gas systems and equipment covered in this standard include those in healthcare facilities within the scope of NFPA99-2024, HealthCare Facilities Code. Medical gas systems encompass those distributing USP gases, medical vacuum, WAGD and support gas piping. The purpose of this standard is to provide minimum performance criteria, identified by industry consensus, for the qualification of Medical Gas Systems Installers to ensure compliance with the referenced standards in Section 10-1.4.
MyMedGas Credentialing will test the competence of the applicant to meet the minimum required level of ASSE 6010 Section 10-1.4. Upon successful completion of the required exam(s) and approval of required documentation and prerequisites, the applicant will be eligible for a certificate.
